Competitions
From time-to-time we ran competitions to make life a little more interesting. Here are our winners:
Past Competitions
Winner – ‘Picture it’ writing competition – September 2015
Entrants had to adhere to our normal poetry and short story guidelines (less than 5,000 words and never published before), and use one of the following untitled images as their inspiration:
While we had some great entries, and we each struggled to make the decision, in the end we each independently chose AA Anderson’s The Fatal Waterfall. It seems AA had developed a knack for winning our competitions!
Congratulations to AA who will receive one copy each of narratorINTERNATIONAL Volumes 1, 2 and 3 shipped to the door during December 2015.
And thank you to all who entered into the spirit of the competition – we really enjoyed seeing the different ‘takes’ people had on different images.
Winner – ‘Evolve, Revolve, Devolve’ writing competition May-June 2015
Well, after much reading and discussion, we finally agreed that the winner of the ‘evolve, revolve, devolve’ writing competition was AA Anderson with The Revolving Door.
As always, we had some great entries and sadly not everyone can win, but thank you all for your spirited entries and thought-provoking entertainment!
AA Anderson’s prize is a copy of each of narratorINTERNATIONAL Volumes 1 and 2 shipped to the door.
Winner – narratorINTERNATIONAL Volume 2 cover competition
Thank you to everyone who entered our narratorINTERNATIONAL Volume 2 cover competition. As always, we had some great entries, which we shared on our Facebook page, but as we only have one cover, the final winner was Beatrice Ross’ image ‘Elevator’.
Thank you to everyone who entered the competition – keep an eye out for our Volume 3 cover competition!
‘wild’ concept writing competition, November-December 2014
Thank you to everyone who entered our ‘wild’ concept writing competition. Just to spice things up a little, instead of a phrase, we asked you to write about a concept. And the concept was … WILD.
There were some interesting takes on the use of the concept ‘wild’ but in the end we felt that the originality and entertainment value of Marbles by Lyn Williams made it worth the gong. Congratulations to Lyn and a hearty thanks again to all who entered our ‘wild’ writing competition!
Lyn has been sent a complimentary copy of narratorINTERNATIONAL Volume 1 as her prize.
narratorINTERNATIONAL Volume 1 cover competition – October 2014
Thank you to everyone who entered our narratorINTERNATIONAL Volume 1 cover competition. Again, we had some great entries, which you would have seen on our Facebook page, but we only have one cover, and after much debate and seasoned reasoning, we chose Amir Kiani’s image ‘The Verge’.
Thank you to everyone who entered the competition – there are some really talented image makers out there, so we have no doubt that future covers will be well taken care of.
narratorAUSTRALIA Volume 4 cover competition – June 2014
Thank you to everyone who entered our narratorAUSTRALIA 4 cover competition. We had some great entries, but in the end we settled on Hettie Ashwin’s image, ‘Leaves’.
Hettie’s image will now grace both the cover of the latest edition, and the narratorINTERNATIONAL site until narratorINTERNATIONAL Volume 1 is released.
